Look at how gorgeous this model is!
That blue winged eye shadow! Those earrings! That stare! Duhvine.
The blue got me thinking about IKB, the artist Yves Klein‘s signature color that he developed with chemists and copyrighted in the late 1950s. Since developing the color, Klein used it in both his visual work as well as performance pieces. Here’s an example of IKB chosen for its textural similarity to eye shadow:

IKB 160 (1957)
The search is on to find an eye shadow/make up concoction that closely resembles that deep hue. Since June 6th was Yves Klein’s 50th anniversary of his death, this piece did a write-up on him and found some similarly hued goodies. But I want to find something that closely resembles the 160 piece above. Tell me, have you worn blue eye makeup since you were 8 years old and playing with the contents of your kooky aunt’s makeup bag? I want to know.
